which he had in his belt and stabbed Mr Hopkins - Witness describes, and speaks to what he saw - and the Prisoner) struggled together. thinks it was about a quarter of a minute after the Kick was given before Mr Hopkins was stabbed. The Prisoner went on scrubbing the Grating for a moment,
then jumped up and stabbed Mr. Hopkins - Cannot say how many times Prisoner moved his hand in scrubbing the grating after Mr Hopkins gave him the last blow. Witness had been struck frequently by Mr. Hopkins.
Has had no conversation with the Prisoner since the stabbing took place. The Prisoner's face showed great anger. He was in a rage. His eyes were like fire. Previous to the day on which Mr Hopkins was stabbed the Prisoner had observed to Witness "See how this fellow hectors us about orders."
The Prisoner has no questions to put to this witness, who is allowed to retire.
